DMK came to power with the anti-North Indian, Anti-Hindi, Anti-Ram propoganda. What else can you expect from a party that has hate as its USP. But the people simply don't care. We will continue to be the way we are. That is why India has grown over the years as a cradle of many cultures.

DMK is notorious for such things and I'm surprised in the least. All this pales in comparison to the rally they took out in the 70s where the idol of Ram was garlanded with chappals. Shame on the pluralism of India

My dear Vasisth,

The way these regional political parties act last few years and their anti hindu statements are well known secret that they are after the minority vote bank politics.
We have seen, read our CM.MK's statements on Lord Rama and aftermath...
Almanacs are our ancient form of diagonising what's going to happen and our elders & sacred texts has lot's of scientific proof over those astro calculations from time to time.
What rights these political leaders have to change is our querry.
Can they do this to other religious rituals. belief's...Never...they will lose their votes.
It so happen that this year "Panchang" almanac has already predicted the change and sufferings of political leaders and hinted that the rulers will find difficult to survive. May be that reason would have made them to implement this radical change.
Any way the things happening are for a change and that change will teach them all the biggest lessons.
However this year too all the temples had their own special pujas and many tamilians celebrated this day ignoring the government fiat..

Hi Vasisth,

This is just one more example of this inherently anti-Hindu nature of the DMK govt.People should ignore these orders and practice their faith fearlessly.

Vasisth
In certain matters no law can make the people change their customs and traditions.
Thai will always be associated with Pongal and chiththirai as the new year day. If they are going to change even the almanacs then that will be a real head ache.
